Iran in a nutshell
Iran has a lot to offer to any kind of traveler. If you are into history, culture, art and architecture, you will be delighted by Iran’s richness in each of these aspects. If you are into nature, adventure and adrenaline, you will be glad to learn that Iran has epic mountains, enchanting deserts and breathtaking islands. If you travel for food, you are in for a big treat in Iran! And if you travel for the people, Iran will take your heart away with its friendly faces!
I visited Iran for the first time in 2019 and was blown away by everything I discovered in this country. During this trip, I did the classic Iranian travel route starting in Tehran, followed by Kashan, Esfahan, Yazd and Shiraz. I also visited a historic village called Abyaneh with a unique cultural heritage. Finally, I spent a few days on the two most beautiful islands in the country: Qeshm and Hormuz. If you have time, I definitely recommend adding those islands to your travel itinerary! My visit to Iran happened to be coinciding with the observances of Muharram, the first month of the Islamic calendar. You can check out my article about this experience if you plan to visit during this period. Of course, I also answer the question everyone asked me about Iran : “Is visiting Iran safe?”. Finally, if you look for recommendations for reliable tour guides, hotels, planning, money advice and more, check out my quite long “Ultimate travel guide for Iran”. All my articles are available in English, French and Bulgarian. I hope the pictures and stories I share here inspire you to visit the beautiful country that is Iran!

Everything about Qeshm and Hormuz is out-of-this-world. You'll get what Qeshm Island is like if you mix a desert with crazy rock formations. Think about Mars, and there you have it - Hormuz Island. There are absolutely no other places like these in Iran. Being there, you are swept away by the sheer power of the raw elements: sand, salt, rocks, water and wind.
