Hi, my name is Alex and I'm the founder of Nomad Photos.

In 2017 I started this website as a photography story book. Little did I know that in 2019, I would visit Iran on a trip that happened to be a turning point in my travels. Following my inner storyteller, I’ve started this travel blog.

I’m travelling solo while doing the nine-to-five thing. Due to my full time job, I make a handful of trips per year. I like to say that I'm a slow traveller. I have an aversion to feeling like a tourist and try to make my few trips meaningful and deep. Usually, I spend many hours in reading and preparation to research each country I visit. Everything I share in my sometimes quite long blog posts is a result of my deep love for people, diverse cultures, adventure, nature and photography.

I'm from Bulgaria which is why this website is also available in Bulgarian. I (try to) speak French too. I learned French on my own, so please reach out to help me correct any mistakes. Merci! All texts are written, edited and translated by myself. Alas, the bad jokes are also mine! All photography on this website is my own work: curated, retouched and shot by me. Some of the code for this website is mine. Yup, I also code.
